GLEN ROCK, NJ — A Glen Rock resident told police that a mysterious woman took photos of their home and peered through the windows last week. Now police are asking if anyone else has had the same experience.

Police say that on Friday, Aug. 30, around 5:13 p.m., a resident of Dunham Place reported receiving several Ring camera notifications from their residence between 2:50 and 3:20 p.m. that day.

The person "observed what appeared to be a dark-skinned female dressed in all black clothing walking around their property with a long pole and a measuring wheel," police said.

The person took photos, looked into windows and placed their smartphone on the end of a pole to take photos of the second story of the house, police said.

"The complainant related that they were not expecting anyone at their home for any type of estimates or a survey," police said.

Police looked around and saw construction in the area, but no one was expected to be on the private property, they said.

A witness saw a woman in the area who was in a dark green SUV and fit the description, police said.

They also got a license plate number, but it "did not match the vehicle."

The Detective Bureau is investigating. Police said that anyone who saw similar activity should contact the Glen Rock Police Department at (201) 652-3800.
